Cook says over 1.5 million books on the iBookstore.
And customers have downloaded more than 400 million books since the store opened.
Tim Cook forteller at det er lastet ned 35 milliarder apps fra App Store, som en slags innledning til hva vi virkelig venter på. iBooks skal være en av de mest populære appene.
Cook going over some new features like reading in sepia or night mode. Cook says new version today.
New option called "continuous scrolling," lets you flick through a book like you would a story in the browser.
New version of iBooks has continuous scrolling...no pages! Instapapery.
Also integrated with iCloud so you can carry over reading on a device (though the app already did that). New: lets you share a passage by twitter or e-mail.
Other new features: new fonts and languages like Korean and Japanese, the latter of which will put books in the other direction from left to right page turns. Update is available free, today.
And we're done with iBooks. That was quick. Onto the Mac, with Cook pointing out growth of Mac vs. PC market.
I saw CNET up on that slide.
Vi antar at Cook bruker så mye tid på iBooks for å slå fast iBooks på iOS-enheter som en konkurrent til Kindle.
Cook pointing to Mac as number one desktop and notebooks in the U.S. "We're really pleased with all the momentum with the Mac. But we are not standing still. We're going to continue innovating with the Mac, and we've got some really great stuff to show you this morning."
Seems like Mac is indeed the front and center focus today.
So up to show us that is Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller.
Ny versjon av iBooks kan lastes ned gratis fra App Store nå...
"Today is a very big day for the Mac." Schiller says. Up first, the MacBook.
There will indeed be a MacBook.
Tim Cook snakker nå om Mac...
Schiller doing a quick recap of the MacBook Pro with Retina Display, running down various press quotes talking up the 15-inch model the company put out in June. Even so, the best selling MacBook is the 13-inch Pro.
Og de skal avsløre noen nye enheter.
Hmm...13-inch MacBook Pro the top-sellng Mac.
Schiller says people like the power and the small size. But the company's going to replace it with a new 13-inch MacBook Pro...
There it is...13-inch MacBook Pro. Real. I was waiting for this one.
Power Nap is intriguing. It only works with a few MacBooks, currently. The 13-inch Retina Pro has it. Downloads, etc while sleeping.
Starts at 2.5Ghz dual-core i5 for $1,699. w/8GB RAM and 128GB of memory.
Schiller talking up an environmental checklist with Energy Star 5.2, EPEAT Gold, Arsenic-free display glass, mercuary-free display, BFR-free, etc. Now we see an advertisement for it.
$1699 for base config, but I imagine many people will want to upgrade the base 128GB of flash storage.
The ad's just like the one for the 15-inch model, with a slowly rotating computer doing various things.
And that's done with quickly.
